I only want sWriter

I know that OO.o calls its doc editing program sWriter (i guess after Star Writer) and that is really all I want from OO, but the whole thing is like 90 megs, and being a user of 56k im not in the mood to download the entire thing, does anybody know where to get (if its possible) only sWriter.

Boy, I've always wondered that myself. Seems there's no way to just install a few components of Star/OpenOffice; it's all or nothing. If you find out how, let me know! I could do without Draw and Impress myself... At any rate, I would be surprised if you could download just one or a few components.

Maybe you could use Abiword? I found it to be pretty good, fast and can read/write to a lot of formats. Plus, it's distributed with most of distros around, so probably it's also with your Slack 9.1...

the one that came with slack 9.1 is (stupidly) not statically linked, so it needs full blown gnome b4 it will even consiter starting,

plus ABI word does not have as many features or file formats as OOo
