i/o problems
 

I'm struggling trying to get mandrake 8.1 to configure on an old i586. (Vslow, falls over ++)Can't get my CyrixMedia Xpress to work at more than 256colours or 640x480 even though it did with win98

also can't get network card to function, have Dlink DE-528 PCI which is a NE2000 clone according to the Bios autodetect. System seems to think its a realtek8039 but can't find the pnp to reconfigure.

Can I download drivers through win98 internet and install from console?
