Question I/O error, Mud running, confused...

Originally I was getting some kind of error about no having enough space, but after rebooting, i'm getting some sort of error like this:

gcc -c -Wall act_info.c
cc1: /tmp/ccCeFEHg.s: I/O error
make: *** [act_info.o] Error 1

This is trying to make the source code for my mud, but this happened randomly after I rebooted the mud. (A mud is a text-based game mainly written in C)
Where the ccCeFEHg.s sections seems to continually change every time I try to make again.

Anyway, its not a mud problem I don't think, I think it is a linux problem. Help would be appreciated, I'm befuddled.

It looks there is not enough space for temporary files. They are stored in /tmp and usually have random names. Free some space and it should be ok.
