I need OS compatibility help

I'm new to Linux and I need help as soon as possible! I recently put Mandrake Linux on my Laptop and I am now having OS compatibility issues. I would like to know if I can open Windows-compatible software with my Linux laptop. I would hate to go back to Windows. If somebody can please tell me if I can do that and, if so, how, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

There is a peice of software called Wine that will allow you to run some Windows software in Linux. What exactly are you trying to run?
