The 'source' of the linked file is pointed to by the arrow on that line. I assume that is what you mean by source.
The numeric value you ask about is explained on the man page (man chmod). Read is 4, write is 2 so you would use 600 (three octal digits). If you look at the man page you will see that you can also do it symbolically.
