I need help with my ati video card


My graphic card work ok but I want to enable 3d so My brothers could Play Games, They use Microsoft window to play pc games such as quake 3, Need for speed etc, so this a great oppertunity for my brothers to use Linux. My winbox crash and there are complianing to me to fix the damm think

anyhow I got the ati driver and configure my xorg when I stop and restart my gdm I can't login in to my desktop, I am using ubuntu 5.10, i am using 2.6.12-10-386 kernal so hear the xorg

What does your xorg log look like? Or just run startx instead of starting gdm and tell us what the output is.
