i need help redhat 9.0


i installed it and updated the software. i changed the theme colors and went to the vid card to fix the hertz. i have an ati radeon 9800 pro and set it on the radeon 9700 pro. i rebooted and now when i enter my username and password. it freezes on redhats splash screen and wont load into the gui.

i hope this info helps.

instead of typing in the user/pw at the GUI prompt hit the ctrl+alt+F1 to get to a terminal (dos looking screen) log in there as user, then su - and enter the root password.

at that point you can get in and edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

as to what exactly you need to enter there you will have to get an ATI guy around here to help you with, or do some googling for your vid card with RH9...

you are not locked out of your system, just out of the GUI for now.
