netcut can cut the net from ather computer on the network

acid_kewpie 07-07-2009 01:05 AM

"cut the net"???

I am not sure which answer is appropriate: choose from one below
  • this is a clear attempt at hacking in a bad way and the post should be closed asap, in line with the rules on the subject
  • the OP has asked the wrong question and clearly wants a program like anti-netcut, which stops netcut from doing its evil work

see, for example, http://anti-netcut.software.informer.com/
Quote:

Netcut is a program that utilizes the famous ARP exploits that give an attacker on the same LAN the ability to disconnect
your Internet connection.

Has google complained? Are you sure its not just your connection? And what makes you think that this has anything to do with netcut? Are you sure that you haven't just made one of the more common config errors that lead to a slow connection?

Heh, an attempt at hacking? Maybe. Clear? Nope. Somehow I think we're safe from him.

Do love the idea of cutting the net. Sounds very red pill / blue pill.

We'd be safe from him (her?), but that is not necessarily the case for anyone on his network.

Note the non-sequitur in 'the net is slow, so I want to cure the problem by switching the speed to zero'. Presumably he wants to do that to someone else (and there is no actual evidence that this will help what he is apparently seeing as a problem and a better entry point might have been the reason that he is seeing the 'net as slow).
