I need an .IT file extractor

I like to play Tux Racer, and I like the sounds. But the sounds are in .IT file format. Is there a program to that i can use to extract it.

At a gues, those files are written to be extracted by another part of Tuxracer. They are probably written especially for the game. Rather than being in a common format, they would be interpreted by the game itself.

Being non-gpl any longer, I don't know how much luck you'll have finding a suitable player, however, you could give mplayer a try :D

However, there is still an open-source version apparently:
http://tuxracer.sourceforge.net/

You may very well be able to dig the code of the open source one and find out what's going with the audio in there. And possibly even apply that knowledge to the commercial version (unless that's illegal?).

Cool

Another option, that I've not used for a long time, so I may be wrong, but maybe:

Stuffit uses a compression of ".it".

Cool

.IT files are impulse tracker files. Find any MOD Tracker, they normally open them. They are not compressed btw.
