I need an alternative to Camorama. Any ideas?

So camorama is fubar'ed on my system and even reinstalling it has no effect. Is there any other software that anyone knows of that takes webcam shots. I don't need to video conference or anything in that area. Just take camera stills.

I'm greatful for any suggestions, as I use the cam on my site.

Try using xawtv like this:
xawtv -c /dev/video

worked like a charm for me while just running xawtv presented me with a bluescreen
also try diffrent video devices such as /dev/video0, /dev/video1 and so on
