[SOLVED] I kep getting a "note" that's driving me crazy!

Runing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and firefox 20.0.

I keep geting the following note:

"Please enter the master password for the FIPS Cryptographic Key".

This just started this morning when I turned the computer on for the first time. Rebooting does nothing. Entering system password does nothing.

Anyone familiar with this note that can tell me what is going on?

I don't think it has anything to do with Ubuntu per say, but is relative to security in some way! I could be totally wrong.

Can you tell us at exactly what point during bootup you get this message? Does it appear after you have selected the kernel from the grub menu? Before or after the login screen appears? When exactly?

I solved the problem. I just "Reset" Firefox since it seemed to be a function of the front end asking for information. Everything is fine now.

Sorry for jumping the gun so to speak.

If its FF related it could be the Master key you can specify if you want FF to remember website passwds, but not make them available at restart until after you've 'opened the safe' so to speak.
This stops walk-by users getting into your sites and also malware that tries to read the FF passwd storage.
