I just want some video support


Hallo all of you.So i have i linux box running SUSE 10 and i want some libraries i think to be able to play formats like mpegs, avis, etc.Thank god i can play mp3s by default.And also i want to watch a DVD movie on my pc.Anyway i think that SUSE 10 has some serious bugs but this is another story.I hate amarok crashes and those S**T.

Anyway if you know how to make my linux box to play some videos please let me know.Thanks in advance.

You'll need the w32codecs package

first you might want some graphical acceleration enabled(driver). you are most likely using vesa by default. if you card is ATI or nVidia, go to their site and download the drivers from there. they have the instructions there as well.
to play most formats get VLC. you might have to download additional codecs. it worked for me by default. there are other programs but VLC generally plays all formats.(including DVD, DivX, xvid)
