i installed a MINIMAL installation of RH8, i logged as root, but no startx command...
what should i do now to install everything needed to run KDE or GNOME, is there a text based software installer in RH8?
help.

I know how to do this in SuSE and Red Hat probably works in a similar way.

Boot your Red Hat install CD. One option should be a way to update an existing Red Hat system without doing a complete reinstall. Use this option to install Gnome and/or KDE.
