I have more problems
 

I have started installing the Linux operating system. First I have to say , that I had another operating system installed before, that I got successfully red of, but I sill have to start with the old MBR boot because I don't know haw to get red of it. So anyhow after the system recognize the mouse,hard drive,CD drive it comes out with a message and I quote: Software can not read package data from installation media. Can it be because of the MBR, or there is something wrong with the CD?

It sounds like the CD. but could you let us know what distro your using and at what point you get this message.

If it doesnt work from the CD - copy it to your hard drive and use rawwrite.exe to burn the HARD DRIVE image instead of the CD image onto the floppy, boot from floppy then specify where the files were copied...
