i have a WINXP now, is it possible to add RH8 & MDK9.1? which should install 1st?

i currently have Windows XP and it is only using 15gb of space out of the 40gb of my harddisk drive, therefore, i still have approx. 25gb of unpartitioned freespace,
i want to install a MDK9.1 and a RH8, is it possible?
should i install MDK9.1 first or Redhat8?
can someone suggest what should i do...
thank you very much..
God bless

You can easily add eith RH or MDK or both. I don't think it matters which you start with, though I have more experience with RH than MDK. If you have a CD set, just put CD-1 into the cdrom drive and boot from it. Follow the screens and away you go.

well .. i tried it and it messed up.. lols
i have a 100% working RH8 and WINXP dual boot via lilo with no problems, then i tried to install MDK9.1.... CD was booted at first and installed MDK9.1 and then boom! MDK9.1 is booting properly, RH8 was not in the bootmenu of lilo, only windows XP is there, so i tried to boot to windows xp, unfortunately it displays the windows xp logo and after a few seconds it will display something saying unmountable boot volume or something, then now i only have windows xp. lols... hmmmm any advice?

MANDRAKE 9.1

You can install mandrake 9.1 without any pain. It does have ntfs support and when you start installation you can choose "remaining disk space from windows partition" as installation target. If you do have enough disk space you can install it easily. And fortunately if your both OS (linux and windows) are on the same disk (even in different partiitons) are able to choose OS after the installation of mandrake 9.1. I do not recommend you to install RH8

Grub is, in fact, more flexible than lilo, easier to set up, and easier to manage multiple installs across a hard drive or group of hard drives.

That isn't to say that lilo is bad; lots of people use and like lilo; but if you use grub and learn to use it well, you will never go back to lilo.
