i cant make a live cd


ive tried about 3 times now and i cant make a live cd i know im probably not doing something right and i need help

i download the .iso file from frozentech.com then i try to burn it to a cd and i feel like im forgetting something too because ill put it in my laptop and it will just sit there i have had live cd's before so i know it works on my laptop but i cant do it myself

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Did you burn the .iso file to a correct type of disc, and correctly? A .iso image has to be burned as an image, not as data (is you burn it as data, you'll only get the .iso file on the CD; you need to burn it as an image, so it's "extracted" to the disc so you get the contents).

Also make sure you aren't burning a CD on a DVD..I don't know if this is possible, but I was THIS close to do such a mistake myself yesterday what a fool am I..

i burnt it to a cd-r and i have been saving it as data to the cd is a cd ok to use or do i need a dvd-r

If the ISO is a CD ISO, then it should be OK to burn it to a CD-R. Again, you need to burn the ISO as an image and not as "regular" data.
