I cant install Xine to mandrake 10.0 - help plz


Before installing the Xine , it says make sure to do configure (./configure) but when i do configure
[root@localhost xine-lib-1-rc5]# ./configure
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c

checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
[root@localhost xine-lib-1-rc5]#

i have this path ,it says
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
i got GCC for C Compiler but i could not install it too , i am newbie..

bcoz of i cant configure , i cant use 'make install' command ,
when i use "make install" it says like this;
make: *** Target 'install' there is no compiler .. How can i do compile...

i am really sick with that . Can anybody help???

you need to install the gcc compiler components. They should be on the Mandrake CD, i think..

If you cant locate them, you may download an RPM from here:

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i586.rpm.html

try that, and lets see what you get.

also, if you're not ready to do compiling, you may get Xine RPM's from the same site posted above. Just search from "xine mandrake".
