I cannot transfer files with aMSN...

When I try to send a file using aMSN, it start a window with a progress bar, but it don't go further.
It stops in the message "Trying to open in port XXXXX".

What shall I do, what shall I check?

What MSN? MSN messenger? If yes, check your firewall or iptables and change permissions for port XXXXX.

I'm using aMSN, as I said.
How can I check those things?

sanmartin 05-21-2005 05:27 PM

more information:
The exact message "Listen to the port 6891".

Maybe the other person's firewall is blocking that port or port range? Maybe theirs isn't set to receive it from that port or port range? Try sending a file to someone else to see if you can.

Hi!

I had the same problem until I ticked the "Use new transfer protocol" in Tools->Preferences->Advanced->Connection.

I also have port 1863 (TCP) and 6891 (TCP) opened in my router. You have to open up 6892 and so on if you want to send more files simultaneously.

Hope that works! :)
