I cannot make more than one page style in a document. Libreoffice

I cannot make more than one page style in a document. I have tried to make different page styles for different chapters. I click on a page and apply the style but the whole document takes that style.

Loaded the latest Libreoffice to see if this has been fixed but the same happens. The whole document appears to accept only one style.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Chapter 1 and chapter 2

whatever I use the whole document take the style

Have it sorted now. From Libreoffice questions.

I had to insert a Manual Page Break and not just a page break.

When you "click on a page" you're not selecting the text to which you want the style applied, so it defaults to the whole document.

Select all of Chapter 1, then apply the style.
Repeat for Chapter 2

I remember struggling to work that one out! Have you downloaded the Writer Manual pdf from the LibreOffice documentation page? It really is an essential tool for serious users.

Oh yes I went through every thing.

To Apply a Page Style to a New Page
1. Click in the document where you want a new page to start.
2. Choose Insert - Manual Break.
3. Select Page break.
4. In the Style box, select the page style that you want to apply to the page that follows the manual break.
5. Click OK.

This part seemed to be a problem as everybody said insert a break. When it actually should be a manual break which alls up the style you want.

Git there in the end though.
