I Can't Install Latest Version Of Java Without Installing Firefox

When I update through the Update Manager, I can't install the latest version of java without installing firefox. I don't use firefox because I use opera. I just want to install java, nothing more. What do I do about this?

Oh! i guess a simple solution wud be to install firefox jus for the sake of updating ur java ins. and then not use firefox. Continue using your fav browser. You must have already thought abt it, here i just want to say that i vote for this sol.

il try myself and may come-up wid a better one.. but till then if its urgent we can go ahead wid the abv simple sol..

mSaiyesh, thanks for the reply. Do you think it'd be better that I install the java update along with firefox, then uninstall firefox later? Would uninstalling firefox affect the updated java installed?
