I can't get DVD's to play?

So I've stuck a few different DVD movies in to let the kids watch but I can't get any to play.

I am running Kubuntu 8.10 on a Toshiba Sattellite a105 laptop.

It comes default with dragon player. Then I loaded VLC since I use that on my Windoze machines too. Neither player will recognize the DVDs?

Can anyone help? TIA

You need to install libdvdcss before Linux can read DVDs. Check Synaptic.

playing dvd's

TMerriam is quite correct. The current package is called:
libdvdcss2
Enjoy watching your dvd's.
Cheers,

libdvdcss is only available from the Medibuntu repositories, which aren't part of the standard Ubuntu repos. So you'll need to go to www.medibuntu.org and add them.

Alternatively you can just install the deb for libdvdcss from the same site.
