I can't get .asf files to play in mplayer.....
At my place of work we have a integrated email and voicemail system that sends users via email a audio recording of any voicemail messages that they receive.
Unfortunately the voicemail messages are in .asf format and I cannot seem to get them to play. I have installed mplayer and can use it to listen to most types of audio and video OK. When I try to listen to the voicemail clip, I get no sound and the following output: [grma@grma-lap 7] > mplayer content.asf Using GNU internationalization Original domain: messages Original dirname: /usr/share/locale Current domain: mplayer Current dirname: /usr/share/locale MPlayer 0.90rc5-3.2.2 (C) 2000-2003 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS) CPU: Intel Celeron 2/Pentium III Coppermine,Geyserville (Family: 6, Stepping: 3) Detected cache-line size is 32 bytes CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 0 Reading config file /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf: No such file or directory Reading config file /usr2/userdata/grma/.mplayer/config Reading /usr2/userdata/grma/.mplayer/codecs.conf: can't open '/usr2/userdata/grma/.mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory Reading /etc/mplayer/codecs.conf: 50 audio & 136 video codecs font: can't open file: /usr2/userdata/grma/.mplayer/font/font.desc Font /usr/share/mplayer/font/font.desc loaded successfully!
