Question I can't even install a screensaver , Help please

I've been playing with Linux; the Red-hat series, off and on. I split my desktop and laptop half windows half Linux, in hope that it might force me to learn it and eventually I'd make the switch. I'm a little familiar with the RPGs but say I wanted to download and install a program or game, there isn't a little setup icon I can hit and it'll do the rest. I've been looking for a P2P like kazaa or lime-wire that will run on Linux and yet to have found one, but even if I did I wouldn't be able to install it and every time I read the how to's they loose me in Linux nomenclature....need help bad, swimming against the current and going no where...
