I broke the make command how do I fix it

So what I did was try to install cdrtools 2.01 so I ran the gmake command on it and it ran through it no problems. But now by doing that somehow I can get any make command to do anything. Everytime I try to use it, it doesn't do anything it just hangs there. I saw on a forum that another person was having this problem they fixed it and didn't say how they did it. So I hope someone can help me out thanks.

You can just uninstall make and then reinstall it. Did you try this?

su to root, then run pkgtool. Choose the remove packages option from the menu, find make.

To reinstall put in your slack installation CD, mount it, and cd to the slackware/d directory. Then run installpkg make-3.80-i386-1.tgz (that's assuming you got the same disc as me, the version number might be different run ls make*.tgz to find out)
