I am looking for a file browser with a GUI to access as root.
Is there such a program? Because its a pain in the ass it always have to use the console. I am running Apache, or trying to I should say and the files are located outside of my home directory.
Thanks!

If you log into a desktop as root, practically everything you see is a GUI file manager in one form or another.

I do it this way using KDE:
open a console
su
(enter root password)
konqueror /
If you are using gnome, there is probably a similar technique to call nautilus. Basically you just use the command line to call whatever file browser your system uses.

Open a terminal.
Become root (su -).
Now open your preferred browser by typing its name in the root terminal window eg konqueror. It will run with root's priviledges, so take care with it!

Some distros won't permit running of GUI apps from the command line by a user who did not login to the X session.
If you use KDE, you can look in your menu for an entry thats similar to "File Manager Super User mode". You will be asked for the root password and Konqueror will run as root. Another way to do it is to use the commands "kdesu konqueror".

Thats a good idea. I used to do that when I was a newbie.
For GNOME, you can use gsku, gnomesu or xsu to do the same thing as kdesu.
