Arrow I am getting error while updating the RHEL 4


Hi,
I am getting error while updating the RHEL 4
I installed yum by the package " yum-2.0.4-1.noarch.rpm " in GUI

Error is as follows:

[shivu@localhost ~]# yum upgrade
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/yum", line 22, in ?
import yummain
ImportError: Bad magic number in /usr/share/yum/yummain.pyc

RHEL4 still used up2date rather than yum. They didn't start using yum until RHEL5.

Have you tried updating using up2date?
