I'm looking for information about KIDS ( Maybe related to QoS)

Hello all.

Nowadays, I'm studying "The Linux Network Architecture", Klaus Wehrle, Pearson Prentice Hall.

In chapter 22, I saw a program or technology called "KIDS:Karlsruhe Implementation architecture of Differentiated Service".

Does anyone know about this software or technology?

It looks like some kind of QoS management tool which has a "kidsd" daemon and /dev/kids file.

However, I can't find that daemon and file in my linux box(ubuntu 7.2).

Citeseer shows Klaus' KIDS document is dated 1999 and the Waybackmachine shows on Jun 24th 2001 the pages for KIDS where up with the phrase "the source code suitable for Linux 2.2.x is going to be released for the public". After that the site went silent. Appears Diff-serv / KIDS where the Dodo's of the Galapa-QoS islands...
