Question I'm looking for Linux equivalents to these programs please...

Hi

There is a screen recorder that allows you to create Flash demos of your scripts, programs, games, etc and it's called DemoStudio. It is an excellent program (and free) but unfortunately, only available for Windows. I'm looking for a screen recorder for Linux (with a GUI). Does anyone know where I can find one?. Does anyone even know what I'm talking about?. A screen recorder simply permits you to select an area of the screen, manipulate your program so that people can see what it does and then creates a flash (.swf) file that people can view.

I'm also looking for a Linux equivalent of a program called PADGen which allows you to create XML files of your scripts and software for easy submitting to software/script sites.

If anyone can help me out here I'd sure appreciate it and it will allow me to completely move over to Linux and away from Windows (which is crap and has caused me nothing but problems lately!).

- Regards (and a BIG thanks), TT

You have to start it using the command line only
there is no gui for starting the recording process.
