i'm looking for a linux distrubution with gcc 2.95.3 compiler (already installed)


Hi,
I am using gNewsense, the current compiler installed is gcc 4.2.I need to install and run gcc 2.95.3. I tried everything to install the gcc 2.95.3 version , but infortunately failed. So I am looking for a linux distribution with gcc 2.95.3 as the complier already installed. Does it exist??

usually you can install multiple versions of gcc in the same distro.

of course, distros with only the old version exist... consider slackware

gcc 2.95 is over ten years old, and the last update was almost 9 years ago. I do not believe that any distro will have it included.

What is the problem when trying to install it?

I get errors while bootsraping and building, for which i dont have an answer ..... i have googled the errors and tried several things but still...

If you really need 2.95.3, you can get a Slackware 8.1 .iso from here:
