I'm having a weird X problem

Okay, so I turned on my computer last nite after using it all day with no problem. So when I get to X, I start to enter my username. But almost all of the buttons will just make the screen zoom in and out. I can't type anything. I can manage to get into the console and type all I want, as well as in windows. The only problem I have is in X. I've never heard of anyone having this problem before. I'm using RH9 on a new P4 laptop. Also, I tried a usb keyboard with the same results.

If you can get to the console check out the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file with your text editor of choice. You should see a section that looks like this

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard1"
Driver "Keyboard"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"
Option "XkbCompat" ""
Option "XkbOptions" ""
EndSection

If it varies from the above try making it the same. Can't promise this will fix it but it's a suggestion.
