I'm getting error message when try to install package

Hi to all,

When I try to install new software package (blender package) on my Fedora Core 6 computer by double clicking on file in file manager, I'm getting an error message "Another application is running which is accesing software information". Where is the problem since only file manager is opened.
I must emphasize that I'm newbie to linux.

You are sure that only the file manager is open? Try opening a terminal up and type this:

ps -A

look for any entry with the words yum or rpm in them. Copy down the number next to them if you see them and type

kill <that number>

then close the terminal and try again.

Thanks a lot PatrickNew.
But now, I have different kind of problem. After starting "Installing packages process" - "Retrieving software information" appears and everything stops/hang there. Where I'm wrong?
