I'm failing trying to get OpenOffice on Slack13.37 64

As per subject, please help.

Tried various methods, converting the rpm's to txz and also tried the Java installer, neither worked.

When using the first method above, I could go into the /opt/openoffice/program folder and run the indevidual sections of the suit but it seems kind of crude and incomplete.

The java installer couldnt complete and threw dependency errors.

I've read on here about slack builds but not really sure where to go next.

Thanks in advance...

Below are the SlackBuild links. A lot of us are switching over to LibreOffice. I have actually used that SlackBuild successfully. The /opt directory is not a bad thing. You shouldn't really consider it awkward. There are a number of things that want to install there by default. It often makes it easier to keep your system straight.
