Hyperterminal program for Linux?

I have a CISCO cable router. In windows I can access it through Hyperterminal. Is there a way to access it using Linux (besides telnet)?

Nothing. But there is more than one way to access a cisco router, the console port being one. I wanted to know how that can be done in Linux.

You probably want to use minicom, to connect to it over a serial cable.
