Hydrogen has no pattern editor anymore.
Thanks for reading.
Summary-
Choosing/using a beat maker*
No pattern editor window in Hydrogen
error messages that I don't understand
Problem-
I'm trying to find an easy-to-use beat maker. I've tried Hammerhead in the past, but right now I'm trying to use Hydrogen. If you've got any suggestions (beat makers for novices), please tell me.
Hydrogen installed fine, and seemed to run fine. It's configured to use ALSA, I believe. At first, I was able to make and change beats while listening to music from rhythmbox. Then I minimized the pattern editor and it never came back. Ever. I even un- and reinstalled but it no longer shows up. Is this a common problem?
Also, when I run it, my terminal outputs some error messages (even when all seemed well).
They follow:

I don't feel like messing with my sound system without advice, so I'm sitting tight until a savior comes. Until then, I'm going to try another beat maker.
Foots-
*Also trying to choose audio editor and digital audio interface. I've used Audacity** and will probably use it. I'm having trouble finding good information about digital audio interfaces (<$250, with several inputs) that install and run smoothly w/Linux. Anybody have experience with dyne:bolic or AGNULA distributions?
(EDIT-m-audio delta 1010 works fine and well)
**Also, I've read that Audacity will not play and record concurrently on Linux. But it will on Windows. Anyone know why this is the case?
(EDIT- this is not the case...)
