hue hd web cam driver installation

I've tried to do this on my own, and I've tried to get help from friends..but nothing is working. I just bought an hue hd webcam, and The installation disk wont work. I tried to install it with wine, which I'm guessing was a dumb thing to do. I also tried following the directions on this website: http://groups.google.com/group/micro...a-driver-draft but they are obviously too complicated for me to understand. If anyone can break them down into something simple, I'd really appreciate that. I really just need it to work with ekiga. Thank you.

To be sure you have the right tool (git) :
'sudo dpkg -r git' ( this is the wrong git )
'sudo apt-get install git-core libvcl0-dev curl exuberant-ctags'
'sudo apt-get install doxygen' ( to make docs )

' git clone http://repo.or.cz/r/microdia.git ' to get microdia/
in /home/julie/

'cd microdia/' .. 'make' .. and to make documentation : 'make doc'
( make : will work in Ubuntu 8.10 , 8.04.1 , tested today )

Testing : 'sudo modprobe videodev' .. 'sudo make insmod'

Installation : 'strip -g sn9c20x.ko' ..
'sudo cp sn9c20x.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/video/usbvideo/'
'sudo depmod -a'

And you can try 'lsmod | grep sn9' to see your module !

And read more in the file README.

( I have no idea, if this is the right "driver", just followed your link. )
....

Good luck !

Thanks, but i already returned it and bought a logitech webcam. It was so much easier to make work. Like three commands and everything pretty much happened for me. Sounds super lazy, but I'm limited in the technology intelligence department. I'm really just working with what I've learned from ubuntu for dummies. Which is why I came here for help, but after looking around myself, I realized it was probably easier just to buy one that will work. I really do wish I could've kept my other webcam. It was pink and futuristic looking. lol.

Thank you so much for the help though.

Appreciate your answer, I'm lazy too with hardware.
If it doesn't work at once, out it goes, wireless cards etc.

Getting involved with the command line is cool and fun, good learning experience.
