HTTP Server Icon Not Appearing In YAST

For a while now I've run a Linux Suse 10.3 GNOME server at work, mainly for testing. After getting the base OS up and running I installed Apache2, PHP, and MySQL via the software repositories. Most of what I tested was very smooth.

Now, I've decided to set up another server, this one a Linux Suse 10.3 KDE server. As before, after installing the base OS I installed Apache2, PHP, and MySQL via the repositories.

This is where things get strange. Unlike the GNOME install on my other box, my KDE install refuses to show the HTTP SERVER icon in YAST. I've made sure Apache really is installed, and I've manually started the service in SYSTEM SERVICSE (RUNLEVEL). I can even get to the IT WORKS page using a web browser and typing in the system's IP address.

But for some reason the HTTP SERVER icon is missing. Can't explain it. And without access to the GUI I can't modify the Apache paths (I'm sure I can do it at the command prompt, but I have no idea how...I want to get the GUI up and running preferably).

I have reinstalled the OS onto the box in question several times now, and each time I see exactly the same behavior.

So the question is this: anyone know why the HTTP SERVER icon won't show up in YAST after installing Apache2? Is this normal in the KDE interface versus the GNOME interface? Is there any way to get it in there?

Thanks!

-Bob

Ah-Hah! Solution!

Turns out that after I installed Apache2 from the software repositories I also had to install 'yast2-http-server' from the repositories.

It's funny because I suspected there might be a seperate GUI I had to download and install in order to manage Apache from within YAST, but I didn't recall doing it on my Suse 10.3 GNOME install. Maybe I did and I just forgot.

One last point worth noting: I performed this resolution on a Suse11 (not 10.3) machine running KDE4. I don't know if that affects things or not.
