HTTP access to SuSE server

I am having some trouble figuring out the best way to fill our department head's request. Basically (don't ask me why) what he wants to do is instead using FTP to collaborate with another professor across the country on some files stored on the server, he wants to be able to use his browser to access the files and view them natively in the browser (they are HTML files).

I am fairly new to Linux but can find my way around, and from what I've read I think some sort of Apache module would be the best option. We do have Apache running on the server, as if you type in the IP address or host name you get an error message saying Access Forbidden. This brings up another question, if a module is running that allows him to do this, how would I tell? In other words, which modules are running on this Apache installation?

Thanks everyone,
-Alex

Not quite sure what you want to do...

But to list modules; you would do...

Code:
root@host# httpd -l
-C
