htmldoc problem

ERR002: Error: no pages generated! (did you remember to use webpage mode?
actually i did remember to use webpage mode. but htmldoc doesnot produce any usable output. neither called within a php script nor from shell. as it seems to be working elsewhere i wonder what the bug may be. any ideas? would be great!

htmldoc --webpage -t pdf -f /srv/www/htdocs/web/test/chartest.pdf /srv/www/htdocs/web/test/chartest.html
this is one of several i tried. i tried the php code examples from the documentation, the bash and
perl scripts all of which lead to nothing. when run from command line with --verbose option the
error msg above mentioned is displayed.

That seems a bit odd. Is it a valid HTML document?
Have you tried with something simple like:
Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>Title</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>This is a test</h1>
</body>
</html>

i did 10 seconds ago and it worked. seems my html file is not 'well-formed'. thanks for your idea. j.
this was missing: <h1>This is a test</h1>
without a header it doesnt work.
thanks again mate.

A quick solution to fix your file might be to use HTML tidy:
http://tidy.sourceforge.net/

well, as i intend to convert html files i generated myself i wont need tidy, i hope. the simple detail i forgot was that htmldoc needs the <h1></h1> tag to get going. but your hint was really helpful and probably saved me a lot of time. i'll click the affero button, thanks and have a nice day, j.
