HTML editor with WYSIWYG
 

Any good suggestions of any good HTML editor for Linux(similar in functional capability to Macromedia Dreamweaver)?

I have used Nvu. Also came across Bluefish (http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/index.html). How's Bluefish?

As far as I'm concerned WYSIWIG and "good HTML editor" are mutually
exclusive, and that includes Dreamweaver. Bluefish is great, but it's
definitely not WYSIWIG :}

Bluefish is the best for my needs. And I don't know a better then this one.
But there is a possibility to use still Macromedia with WINE or Crossover Office.

Tinkster is spot on -- there are no WYSIWYG HTML editors that I can recommend, on any platform.

Dreamweaver is by far the best out there: it really is orders of magnitude better than anything else; nothing else comes close. But even with Dreamweaver, it is still very easy to produce extremely poor quality code.

All right. How about a good (X)HTML/CSS editor with auto code completion (like Dreamweaver does), which is a native Linux program (i.e. not any Windows program that requires some emulator to run)?

I think nvu is the best thing you'll find.

Gripmaster, I know how it is to get used to something in MS Windows and then have to learn a different way. Bluefish has code completion to some degree. Bluefish is a very fast, flexible and powerful system for creating widely varied web content. Therefore, it can't automatically know what you want to do. Like any other complicated application, you have to learn how to communicate with it. Dreamweaver is great for some things, but in the grand scheme of web content creation, Dreamweaver doesn't do very much. Bluefish does pretty much everything, but you need to use other tools, also. I have to apologize for linux having such a steep learning curve when it comes to writing web content or programming, but when you learn how to do something in linux it works better than anything in MS Windows. You can also try xemacs, with a plugin for HTML completion to do editing. The original emacs is the best editor, period. But, it literally does everything, from the keyboard. So, it is slow to learn, but fast once you learn it.
