HTML editor

Hi all

I was using Dreamweaver to edit my php file's and to create my sites.

But I got onto linux ( Ubuntu ), I know wine will allow Dreamweaver to run, but I want to keep clear of Windows programs.

Is there a program that will allow me to edit and create sites like or close to Dreamweaver that will run on a Linux platform

TT

I have one called Quanta, its part of KDE's Development suite (I think). I haven't used it much but I believe it does what you need.

Here's its homepage: http://quanta.kdewebdev.org/. You might want to check its feature list before going ahead and installing it.

you can just make php in a text editor, but if you want a "Real" editor, i'd say these:
quanta+
VIM
emacs

the last 2 are command line, but VIM and emacs do notice what type of code you are making, and will help you "correct" if you forget something.

- KXSLDbg [http://xsldbg.sourceforge.net/] - XSLT debugging will not be available;
- KImageMapEditor [http://www.nongnu.org/kimagemap/] - editing HTML image maps will not be available;
- Cervisia [http://www.kde.org/apps/cervisia] - CVS management plugin will not be available.

guys not forget the good "not so" old Bluefish....works great for me I also have Screem installed.

Still I keep on dreaming of some wonder that Adobe comes with Dreamweaver for Linux, I'm same as many more a graphical guy and not so much into source code.

If you're using GNOME, gedit, Anjuta, and Geany support html syntax highlighting. Anjuta and Geany support autocompletion. Geany supports PHP, don't know about Anjuta.
