No idea as long as both Windows and Linux has the latest Driver installed. Window is sharing to all. And cups is configured to point to the windows share using the HPLIP driver that was installed. Other than that I am not sure what is missing.
Have you connected the printer to linux to see if it will print?
If not do that and see if it does. If it doesn't then the resdies on the linux machine. Check the requirements for the HPLIP driver and verify you have them.
