HP PSC1210 problems

I have installed Fedora Core 1 on my system and like it except that I cannot get my printer/scanner to work. I have downloaded and installed hpijs-1.5 and hpoj-91, which provide the drivers required for my printer type. I then set up my ptal-init as required.
Next I go to the localhost:631 and set up my cups printer. Everything is recognized by the system, and appears to be installed correctly. When I go to print something though, my print job gets queued and that is as far as it gets. I set up everything exactly like it was for rh9 and it appears to install properly but no results....When I ran rh9, everything ran beautifully. what is different that I'm missing...thank you.
