HP C6380 all-in-one scans but at fixed resolution

Hi All, I have read previous posts where people having fedora 17 and different all-in-ones from
hp were not able to scan.

My problem is rather strange: I am able to print and scan, but in the xsane main window, where the
different options for the scan are available, the one corresponding to the resolution is empty, and no
option appears.

Moreover, when I use hp-scan directly from the command line, instead of using xsane, it gives me an
error saying that it can NOT set the resolution, either using 300 or 600 dpi

My all-in-one is a HP C6380, I am runnig fedora 17. I have tried with different hplip versions, no good result, with
the latest and also with 3.12.4, which is the one which solved previous posts.

Any hint?
