howto increase partition size

Hi,
it looks like my "/tmp" partition needs to be increased in size. can someone explain in detail how this can be done?
(actually trying to install a software from a tar file resulted in the message saying there isn't enough space in /tmp.)

try installing on some other directory.

remove the files that were untarred from /tmp.

HERESY! Why buy some closed-source app, when you can stay GPL-free? Check out GNU's parted utility.
