HowTo disable LCP echo request

Hello to everybody! Anyone know how I can disable LCP echo request in a ppp connection with pppd?
I've commented lcp-... line in ppp.options script, but the connection try to negoziate LCP echo request and falls down
Linux 2.6.1 - pppd 2.4.1 - Mandrake linux 10

Perhaps the "passive" or "silent" options?

no results

I've already tried it without results. I've read that for resolv my problem ( I must disable LCP....
