How use templates as New Message in IceDove?

I have installed IceDove from Mozilla as mail program. My question is how in this world do you tell IceDove (Thunderbird) to use your template in every new message automatically? I have tried searching the mozilla site, but have only gotten the advice to save as template and there the advice ends.

I use Etch on a Compaq PIII
as above IceDove
256 MB

Thanks!

After one save it's mail as a template, she/he can it find in the Folder Tree left in the window of Icedove.
Just click twice on a template and you get the new mail window and can start to edit your mail.
