how to view 360 fotos

hi, i have an essential fone and a 360 camera. when i copy fotos to my pc it looks like a salvador dali drawing and i am unable to drag the field of view around. however videos work in vlc (but not mplayer/kodi).

is there a viewer that is able to view these pictures as intended.

also, is there a webserver that can render them on a website ? (pannellum and photo-sphere-viewer seem to only work with panoramas).

i was interested so i took a 360 picsphere image with focal (an outdated android camera app).
i can see what you mean by "look like dali".

it seems to require a special viewer.

trying this:
https://github.com/lazarus-pkgs/panini
it's not very intuitive.

for gnomish people:

^ +1, thanks for trying... panini has the same results.
and i am unable to add plugins into eog for some reason (~/.local/share/eog/ doesnt exist for some reason) ?

i ran:
Code:
sudo yum install eog-plugins
mkdir ~/.local/share/eog/
cp -r eog_panorama-master/ ~/.local/share/eog/
but when i go to preferences -> plugins, panorama-master isnt listed.

i think you're a little too quick here.
panini seems to be able to display (panoramic) images in loads of different ways, i tried a few, and it definitely looked differently than looking at the jpg with a plain image viewer.

but i could not (yet) find the right settings (and i'm also unsure if focal's panorama feature isn't broken).

...
yup, i tried a few different options and the pic would load with different aspects (not sure if correct word) but still not correct.

so far i am only able to view the pictures correctly on the essential-360 camera app on my telefone. maybe essential is saving these in a non-standard format ?
Code:
[schneidz@hyper]$ file IMG_TP20180303_213002.jpg
IMG_TP20180303_213002.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01, aspect ratio, density 1x1, segment length 16, baseline, precision 8, 2560x1312, frames 3
[schneidz@hyper]$ identify IMG_TP20180303_213002.jpg
IMG_TP20180303_213002.jpg JPEG 2560x1312 2560x1312+0+0 8-bit sRGB 1.36773MiB 0.010u 0:00.000
i am able to view the pics and videos on my pc using vlc.
vlc mobile doesnt have the ability to directly view pics. i have to use file-expert-hd select each file 1-by-1, clik on ... -> open with -> vlc (kind of a kludge).
