How to use xfconfd with openbox?

I normally use openbox with xfce-mcs-manager (running in autostart.sh) to get the themes and icons working in Thunar, etc, but since I upgraded to XFCE 4.6, I don't know how to use xfconfd with xfce4-settings-manager.

I tried adding /usr/libexec/xfconfd to my autostart.sh, and it is currently running, but there are still no icons or themes in use by Thunar, even after configuring with xfce4-settings-manager. Normally I would run xfce-mcs-manager and changes would immediately go into effect.

To clarify, I am not running the XFCE desktop environment, I am using Openbox and attempting to use just the theme/settings manager from XFCE.

Can anyone help me out here?

hi

I have never used mcs but I use openbox with lxde.

try
http://www.phpmag.ru/category/linux/slackware-linux-2/

2) if that fails consider creating a file called /home/yourname/.config/lxde/config

my contents are
-----------------
[GTK]
sNet/ThemeName=Mist
sNet/IconThemeName=nuoveXT2
sGtk/FontName=Sans 10
iGtk/ToolbarStyle=2

--------------------------

I also use command ...obconf...for openbox configuration

and install lxde.

Thank you for your reply, but I would rather use XFCE than LXDE if I can help it. If I can't figure out how to use xfconfd, though, I will most likely give LXDE a try though.
