how to use transcode...

I have had transcode installed for some time now. And i can rip dvd's to my hard drive. ive been reading lots about how to transcode a dvd to avi/divx, but its WAY over my head. Does anybody know a command i'd type to covert a dvd in a folder to an avi/divx? Like around 700 mb size? OR better yet, have any scripts that does this automatically?

Thanks!

If I understand you, you want to create vcds?

then check out:

http://tovid.sourceforge.net/

I've been using an older version (which was basically a modest script that worked wonders) that is text-only but apparently there's a gui now.

it creates vcds, and can convert just about anything that mplayer can play (which is to say just about any video clip out there). It leaves ~ 700MB chunks by default which K3B can use to create and burn the vcd images.
