Launch it from the command line. Just type slapt-gui and hit Enter.
(I've never used slapt-gui, in fact I'd not heard of it prior to reading your post. I have heard of, and used "slapt-get". If you are talking about slapt-get for Slackware, it doesn't have a gui, you need "gslapt" for the gui).
